Matt Smith is a self-taught Wildlife, Pet Portrait Artist and Illustrator based in the North East of England.

Matt’s love for the natural world and the great outdoors began in childhood with days spent holidaying in the Lake District. He has always loved animals and had dogs by his side and now has two black Labradors and a Jack Russell Terrier who have often acted (more accurately ‘play-acted’) as his art muses.

Matt’s work is beautifully done, and he offers a retail range, commissions and even wallpaper.

Commissions

Matt works to commission drawings and illustrations in a range of mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolours, charcoal, carbon, chalk and graphite. Once your commission is complete, you can also choose to customise the range of retail items on offer.

Retail range

Using his original artwork (or your own commissioned portrait), Matt offers a range of contempory products such as prints, art cards, mugs, coasters, fridge magnets and keyrings.

Wallpapers featuring your own best friend

If you’re looking to decorate your home with something completely unique and personal, Matt can even convert your pet portrait to interior wallpaper.

This is how it works…

Once your commissioned portrait is complete, you can choose to personalise one of the three wallpaper designs available (please take a look at the slideshow above for samples).

You will work with Matt to create a completely unique wallpaper for your home by adding your personal portrait to Matt’s designs.

  • Premium wallpaper is available in a range of colours
  • Choose either a ‘classic’ or ‘shimmer’ finish 
  •  Roll dimensions: 10m x 52cm  – 52cm repeats
  •  Full wallpaper hanging instructions are provided
  • The wallpaper is easy to hang in a ‘paste to the wall’ format.
  •  Please note that this product is made to order and delivery can take up to 4-weeks.
